NBA All-Star basketball coverage delivers winning week for TNT network

(February 25, 2007) NBA fans had plenty of programming to feed their love of the game, thanks to TNT’s extensive coverage of the league’s all-star weekend in New Orleans. The tightly contested main game had an increase in viewership of five percent over last year.

Interactive voting for the Slam Dunk competition helped deliver the largest audience in the event’s history. Overall, TNT provided 17 hours of coverage and took the top three spots and winning network honors for the third week of February.

The total number of black viewers watching the top 25 cable shows according to Nielsen Media Research, was 31.4 million. That’s a whopping 38% increase in viewers over the previous week.
