Cable’s top 25 shows a virtual repeat of last week with ‘Payne’ at No.1
(October 4, 2007) Black households were set in their ways for the last two week with the order of the top five most shows remaining the same for the third and fourth week of September. “House of Payne” took the four of the five slots, and claimed 6.2 million black homes in its back-to-back-to-back triple airing on Wednesday night.
Disney was the winning network, with “High School Musical” as its best performer. BET did almost as well with eight chart makers. TBS had four (all of them “Payne”) while USA and ESPN both posted two shows.
The total number of black households watching the top 25 most popular cable shows, according to Nielsen Media Research, was18.3 million, or virtually the same as the previous week.
