Los Angeles, CA - Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell, also known as the best-selling R&B/Gospel duo Mary Mary, are giving their fans A Mary Mary Christmas this holiday season with the Mary Mary Christmas Unplugged Tour. Bringing their upbeat messages and catchy beats, the Campbell sisters have special surprises in store for the fans in Birmingham, AL when they perform at the Boutwell Auditorium on December 16th. Media Concepts, Inc. along with Harvest Entertainment, LLC are sponsoring this incredible night of song at the Boutwell Auditorium. The city of Birmingham, Alabama is in for a real treat. This concert is going to be filled with special guests and cash prizes, but most importantly the concert will donate a portion of its proceeds to Cover to Cover, an organization that partners schools and churches together with a mentorship program to help keep the music alive in the schools.

New York, NY (BlackNews.com) - Legendary actor Lou Gossett, Jr. has been named a recipient of this year’s American Legacy magazine’s Men of Honor and Distinction Awards, the magazine announced today. Gossett will join other honorees Byron Lewis, founder of UniWorld Group, Percy Sutton founder and Chairman Emeritus of New York-based Inner City Broadcasting, and, Former Congressman Louis Stokes during a ceremony to be held in New York City next month.
Cable’s top 25 shows a virtual repeat of last week with ‘Payne’ at No.1
(October 4, 2007) Black households were set in their ways for the last two week with the order of the top five most shows remaining the same for the third and fourth week of September. “House of Payne” took the four of the five slots, and claimed 6.2 million black homes in its back-to-back-to-back triple airing on Wednesday night.
Disney was the winning network, with “High School Musical” as its best performer. BET did almost as well with eight chart makers. TBS had four (all of them “Payne”) while USA and ESPN both posted two shows.
